UV
SHORT WAVELENGTH UV LIGHT
UV Sterilization is the deactivation of microorganisms, or microbes, such as Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi and Algae by exposure to Ultraviolet light, specifically in the UVC range of light (200 -280 nano metres).
Microorganisms are either killed or inactivated by UVC light as a result of damage to nucleic acids in RNA and DNA which leaves them unable to perform cellular functions.
Unlike chemical approaches UV provides rapid, effective inactivation of microorganisms through a physical process. When bacteria and viruses are EXPOSED TO SHORT WAVELENGTH UV LIGHT in the UVC band (200 -280 nano metres) they are inactivated and rendered unable to perform vital cellular functions and thus incapable of reproducing.
UV light has a demonstrated efficacy against pathogenic organisms, including those responsible for cholera, polio, typhoid, hepatitis and other bacterial, viral and parasitic diseases.
SANITIZING
SURFACES
